Basically, i'm here for share my own experience and how's i past my days in uum, if u're a newbie in uum, i strongly believe this post will reveal smt for u=)
This university was extremely huge! Dont even think of walking from ur dorm to the gate, it's gonna kill u! Btw, if u happen to walk to the gate, u'll gonna regret that, because there's nothing around uum.
So what can u do besides of study? I join activities, like aiesec and residential's projects, but this gonna make u busy like hell, my advice is just choose to being active in either one=) of course, there's a lot of society u can choose=)
Transportation:Basically, i took bus to go to the lecture hall for class everyday, bus fees was included in ur total fee, it's all up to u to choose for walk or take bus. If u planning to go outside of uum during holiday, u may rent a car and drive it out, it's depends on how many hours u rent and they'll cost on that standard.
Entertainment:The list of entertainment around uum is freaking short, all u have is C-Mart, never heard of that? neither i=) My advice is bring ur own passport to go to thai, it's much better to stick in C-Mart=) It's just about 15mins car trip from uum to thai, it's very convenient for a uum student like us=)
Accommodation:You'll be assign to ur own residential when u receive the confirmation letter from the uni, we have the main 4 residential according to the places. First is A(tradewinds, tnb, mas, proton), this places is consider as the most convenient residential because of the nearby lecture hall and the varsity mall. Second is B(TM,Perwaja, misc, eon, sime darby and petronas) This is the place where i live, the tomyum in petronas's food-court was the famous one, u may try on that=) C(YAB,Muamalat) this places was apart from A and B, but there's a chinese hawker=) Lastly is D(Kachi-Sme,bank rakyat) this place was located outside of the campus, but dont worry, bus is provided to come into campus=)
Orientation:The most tired 7 days in uum, u'll only get to sleep about 2-3 hours a day, the schedule was so packed, u dont even get a chance to rest, so be prepared! Get a comfortable shoe to walk like a million miles during orientation, my shoe was broke during that time=(
F&B:If u're malay then fine, because 97% of the stalls was selling malays foods. Dont get a chance to try chinese foods if u're living in A,B and D area. Prepare some maggie and biscuit in your room, it's gonna help u to boost energy if u're felling unwell=)
Things are subjected to change.
